Definitions of the Wiltipoll

Registered Wiltipolls:

i) The cross is known and evidence of cross is available
ii) Class A or A1 rams
iii) Class C B A or A1 ewes
iv) Polled or lacking true horns
v) Fully shedding naturally every year
vi) Structurally sound

Stud Wiltipolls: from within these registered animals some breeders choose to pedigree record (not compulsory)

i) Class A or A1 registered Wiltipolls
ii) Pedigreed (breeding history of sire, dam and sire of dam including animal identification (tag), breed and class information.  Horned sheep within pedigrees must be designated [H]
iii) Structurally sound
iv) Stud status should be allocated to the very best registered animals that meet or exceed the breed standard. Provision of a pedigree does not automatically provide animals with stud status.

Unregistered Wiltipolls:

i) Must be the progeny of a Wiltipoll sire and/or dam
ii) Display Wiltipoll characteristics
ii) Fully shedding naturally every year
iii) Structurally sound
