Definitions -Wiltipoll classes


Registered Wiltipolls:

  1. The cross is known and evidence of cross is available
  2. Class A or A1 ram
  3. Class C B A or A1 ewes
  4. Polled or lacking true horns
  5. Fully shed naturally annually
  6. Structurally sound

 Stud Wiltipolls:

  1. Class A or A1 registered Wiltipolls
  2. Pedigreed (breeding history of sires and dams for multiple generations which includes animal identification (tag), breed and class information.  Horned sheep within pedigrees must be designated [H]
  3. Stud status should be allocated to the very best registered animals that meet or exceed the breed standard. Provision of a pedigree does not automatically provide animals with stud status

Full-blood Wiltipolls:

  1. Must be the progeny of a registered Wiltipoll sire and/or dam
  2. Display Wiltipoll characteristics - polled or lacking true horns. Scurs of varying lengths may be present
  3. Fully shed naturally annually
  4. Structurally sound

Wiltipolls:

  1. Must be the progeny of a Wiltipoll sire and/or dam
  2. Display Wiltipoll characteristics - polled or lacking true horns
  3. Fully shed naturally annually
  4. Stucturally sound
